    Comments on the article:
Included are the sections of the Gender and Justice Report pertaining to alimony. You will note on page 32, Judiciary Recommendations 6 and 8 advocate faster alimony awards and the use of civil and criminal penalties for noncompliance. On page 31 of the Findings, item 5 states, "Because women historically are the ones who must seek alimony, they have been disproportionately affected by findings of fault." Hence, it can be surmised that men are paying the vast majority of alimony. All of my informal surveys among Family Law attorneys in GA indicate that men pay alimony about 99% of the time. I understand that your surveys have yielded similar results. Unfortunately, the actual statistics used to make the GA Supreme Court's "findings" and "recommendations" have been destroyed and therefore it is impossible to know exactly how they made their decisions. Because of this, it is felt that the Gender and Justice Report should be discarded, since it is without foundation and exacerbates rather than remedies gender bias in the courts.
